Warning: Spoilers. Lots of them, as most written below takes place in the second half of Book 1.

Technical Sergeant (also Main Engineer) Nicholas Kryak (Nickname: Bionic). Bio, as some of the knights simply call him, is 21 years old, with a bit of a British accent when talking (he also uses "damned" and "hell" a lot). He is naturally gifted with being one of the top minds in the world, as with a photographic memory that lets him obtain this. He was born April 9th. His personality would be described as being very serious and sarcastic, as if a crossbred of personalities between Dr. House and Lucario, oddly enough. Nick grew up in a bad childhood, but not as bad as Volt had it when he was growing up. Nick's mother died when he was 8, leaving his mean father to torment him up until he ran away from both school and home when he was 15. His hatred of animals was even formed because he was mauled and bitten by several animals his father owned. When he was 15, he only told his sister Samantha that he was leaving, and to an unknown location too. With no money, and no experience, he went everywhere, studying, and expanding his knowledge in several laboratories until he was 19, when he picked up a disease while traveling, and that would cripple his heart to the point where he would die sooner than later (he found a mixture of medicine to treat it, albeit for a few hours). He settled down in a small, average house -- often helping out others, whether they'd be good or evil -- he wanted to be neutral and help before he died. In a period where no business came in, he decided to build a teleporter out of pure boredom...to travel around the world at the speed of light. This ended up in him rematerializing, not at his house, but eleven miles away above the air where Volt, Sky and John were all traveling. After all of them got to know Nick and vice versa, Nick treated Volt for his burns on his back while the scientists were experimenting with Volt. Nick and Father John even traded their invention secrets -- and one of Father John's prototypes (named Silver) intrigued Nick enough to persuade John to have it, in exchange for schematics for the same teleporter he built. Nick received a call from Aoi, but did not know this was the "Aoi" that loved Volt. After fixing a critical point failure in Aoi's super computer -- which Nick didn't understand how Aoi had obtained -- he found out through some digging on that computer that it was indeed that same Aoi. This apparently snapped something in Nick's mind, that he had to protect his friend somehow, a foreshadow that would come later in Chapter 10. He grabbed a blade laying nearby on the floor, but as Nick approached the door to confront and kill Aoi, he was stopped by Chi (Aoi's guardian). After a sword-fight, Chi eventually wins, stabbing into Nick's heart and letting him die, then forcing his body deep into the ground. This death was also a trigger point to the exact opposite of a Star Birth -- called the Death of a Sun, where an angel or even a god could enter the universe and modify reality. All Nick could see and hear, despite being dead, was in a cold, dark void, with him at his knees, yet an angel appeared: his mother. Nick starts to question what happened, but his mother never mentions a single word, just reaching out a finger and sending him into what seemed like an endless hell. Three days after Nick had died on Planet Sylindra, his sister after receiving the news about Nick's supposed illness (all his sister heard was that he had succumbed to the disease) she boots up the broken android, and the computer receives data from an "Unknown Source." Nick wasn't really sent into an endless hell, but instead his soul ended up being stored inside the android as a result of the Death of a Sun event, where he was free from the disease, and ended up convincing his sister it was really him and told her what had happened. "I'm a whole new person," Nick would say in the chapter, "But I don't think people would like to call me Nicholas." As a joke, his sister brings up the name Bionic, since Nicholas admittedly is a bit narcissistic, but Nick likes the idea and assumes the identity of Bionic. After his sister leaves, he abandons his now sold house for the Royal Knight's castle and speaks with Father John, as he is the only one to know anything about his vision. Bionic is granted admittance into The Royal Knights, but only if he helps out with doctoring and the technological stuff in the castle. Bionic agrees to this, and lives in The Royal Knights castle from that point on.

(9:47:06 PM) Bionic: well, basically it was because when Nick's mother died when he was 8, that left his father to try and get him to use brauns instead of brains, and his father would threaten him or beat him...well, this supposed angel (Nick's mother) was left with being a "messenger", she had to tell someone she trusted the most on Sylindra about Xaradian, Volt, and give him the power to neutralize Xaradian...this "trusted person" being, not Miranda (Nick's sister (she didn't feel Miranda could be trusted enough)) but Nick, in the last few days of being alive himself...however, Nick was ticking down to death...so she interfered with Nick's death using energy from the death of a sun...and made Nick's soul go into his creation...(I'm sure I told you the last part though)
